Before we get into the details that pave the road to understanding end-time events and where we are in time, it would be best if we stand back and look at the BIG picture. This will give us an overview and the lay of the land, it will also show us that guiding details have been mapped out from the beginning and will lead us safely to the end. Once you are aware of these foundational details, you will see it consistently all through the Bible. Two of those foundational details are; the True Character of God which is love and true WORSHIP! It's all about worship and who will be the ruler of your heart. Knowing this will help guide you when lessons come up that change your view on Bible truth and give you "AH-HA" moments that draw you closer in your experience with our loving God. The BIG picture will also help in keeping us consistent in our focus on the goal.

The BIG picture starts in heaven prior to the introduction of sin. There are not many Bible texts that describe what it was like but the ones that are found in the Bible are quite revealing. But the details are there, the True Character of God and who else wanted to be worshipped.

Once sin was introduced, and the clock started, a limited time was set to prove that the Devil's proposed government was better than God's. We will discuss the time prophecies that clearly point to Jesus' coming to this earth, his mission and the signs of his soon return. Again, all revealing the foundational details that in the very end will be crucial in identifying the Mark of the Beast when it is enforced. The final test of the faithful, who will YOU worship?

Let's talk about the tools and methods we will be using:
1. Both the Old and New Testaments are key to fully knowing and understanding God's plan and both will be used.
2. Early on in these lessons, it is important to know that the Bible is its own interpreter, using a Strong's Exhaustive Bible Concordance is one of the best ways to search scripture and to understand what the Biblical meaning is to a particular word. Searching scripture is our recommended method to knowing and trusting your Bible.

How can I believe the Bible is true? It is such an old book, what does it have to do with me?
Yes, it is old, it was written over a 1500 year span but the one who inspired each of these writers was the same. The solid evidence of truth is clearly depicted in the fulfillment of prophecies. The prophecy foretold of Jesus' coming and dying was fulfilled to the very hour in time. It is the only guide, given by God, that reveals his true character and the plan to bring back his creation to what it first was, in the beginning.

How much of the content in the Bible came from God if so many men wrote it?
II Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

How do I know that the Bible writers just didn't write down their own ideas?
II Peter 1:21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

With all the centuries of the Bible being copied by hand and now with so many versions, how can the Bible be reliable?
Psalm 12:6,7 "The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever."

For what purpose has God given us the Bible?
Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." To guide us.

Will the Bible guide me correctly?
II Peter 1:19 "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts."

Isn't the Bible a matter of how I interpret it versus how you interpret it?
II Peter 1:20 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."

But there are so many different "Christian" faiths with completely different beliefs based all on the same Bible, how do I know what is truth?
John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."
Friend, it is important to know from your own study what the Bible really teaches, start with that first then God will lead you and you will find his faith group.

What method should be used when studying the Bible to understand God's truth?
Isaiah 28:9,10 "Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine?...For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little."

What does the Bible tell us will happen when studying with a sincere heart?
John 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will shew you things to come."

Friend, as you start these Lessons, all you need is an open and willing heart to give the Bible a chance. It is amazing to see lives change as the Holy Spirit introduces honest and willing people who are searching to Bible truth. You WILL meet Jesus.
